Impact of Technology Tools used in the Teaching and Learning Process
The impact of the various technology tools you encounter on the teaching and learning process
As
Business Educator I had to research software’s that were compatible with the
content that I teach. This was important for me because it enables me to effectively
and efficiently engage my students both on the online platform and in the face
to face instructions environment. This made my lessons more interactive and
engaging for my learners. I explored the uses of many software tools such as Microsoft
excel, PowerPoint, Google Classroom, Google Docs, and YouTube videos to make my
lesson more attractive and engaging for my students.
The
use of power point and videos has immensely increased the engagement of my learners,
my lesson plans has also improved greatly, and it allows for me to facilitate personalized
learning for my learners. These tools allows me development skills and
abilities that are vital for the 21st-century. Students love to watch videos on
YouTube. The used of videos from YouTube help students to learn complex
concepts but also helps them improve listening skills.
The
use of Google docs allows me to create materials, assignment and projects for
my learners and streamline access to students.
Students who are a part of my class are able to access, edit and
collaboration when they are given task and assignment in groups to complete. Google
docs allow me as a teachers to monitor each student’s development, improvements
and provide feedback in real time. This allow one or two students can no longer
carry the majority of the workload for the entire group.
The
use of Google classroom allows me organize class activities, materials and keep
records of my students. I was able to facilitate differentiation in my lessons
and assigned task to learners whether it is individually, in groups or class in
entirety. It also allows me as a teacher
to manage my classes better as it give me options during live session to mute
or remove students are disruptive during class time. Using the Google apps
allows me to save time normally used to mark papers and as I am able to use the
grading software.
Using
the tools identified does come with some challenges. Some of the challenges
includes not been able to access the benefits of the technology tools without
the use of internet and a device. The use of these tools does not fully protect
against students cheating when they the tools are used to administer test.
